14/10/16 Young cricketers' achievements celebrated at annual awards
TSS Facilities was a proud sponsor of the Annual Sussex Cricket Academy & Youth Squads Awards Evening, which saw star youth players rewarded for their achievements over the past year.
The awards evening, which took place on 14th October 2016 at The 1st Central County Ground in the Boundary Rooms, was hosted by Jon Filby with the help of Sussex's director of cricket, Keith Greenfield, and academy director Carl Hopkinson. First team players Will Beer, Ben Brown, Matt Machan and Chris Nash, along with assistant head coach Jon Lewis, presented the awards.
Players from all of Sussex's County Age Group squads, including the Under 10s, Under 17s, the Academy, Sussex's Deaf Team, the district squads and area squads, received awards. The Academy Player of the Year Award was won by 17-year-old opening batsman Tom Haines who made his debut for Sussex in the Specsavers County Championship in August against Kent.
Chris Tugwell, Financial Controller at TSS Facilities, who presented some of the awards said: "This year the quality of Sussex cricket has been outstanding. The winners of these awards should all feel incredibly proud of their achievements and we look forward to seeing how they progress over the coming few years. Congratulations from all of us at TSS Facilities, and thanks also to Sussex County Cricket Club for organising such a fantastic awards do."
